TDA Cocktail Cruise! Carri has commandereed the SS Songfellow! After a 4 hour rehearsal for the "Squeezin For A Reason" Accordion Festival, TDA took to the high seas for a relaxing cocktail cruise. Until Carri took the helm and found the throttle! We made it back just in time for grilled salmon.

This Is My New Favorite Accordion-Metal Band

They are called Finntroll and they are a "folk metal" band out of Finland.

Their lyrics are supposedly mostly in Swedish (how would I know?), so I can't comment on those. But I like the sound and I like the video.

And aside from the accordion, I love the players' ears. And horns.

Those Darn Accordions at Mystic Lake Casino Oktoberfest

San Francisco accordion rockers, Those Darn Accordions are set to perform at The Mystic Lake Casino Oktoberfest in Prior Lake, MN on Oct. 4 & 5.  Show times are 7pm -11pm each night. Great food, beer and contests. Admission is free!

Those Darn Accordions At Cotati Accordion Fest

Well Alright! TDA has been added to the Saturday line up at the Cotati Accordion Festival on Aug. 17. We go on at 2:10 pm, but get there early and plan to stay all day (and the next!) to hear some great accordion driven bands. Cotati is always a blast and a great place to learn everything you ever wanted to know about accordions!  See you there!

Here Comes Oktoberfest!

It's getting to be that time of year again. Let the Oktoberfests begin! TDA is heading back to Mammoth Lakes, CA on Sept 22 to kick off our bellows and beer season. Then we head up to OR for 3 dates the following weekend.  Get more info on our Tour Page. In meantime, enjoy a Glass of Beer with TDA and Drew Carey.

I see that Cocktails In Tehran has been uploaded to YouTube by UFO Jockey (great handle, BTW). A real pleasure to hear Carri belt this out again. We never did this song live, though it was intended to be a showcase for her amazing voice. What a performance!

Squeeze This-The Book

Everybody knows that Those Darn Accordions' first CD is called "Squeeze This".  Just released is a new book about the history of the accordion in America entitled, you guessed it, "Squeeze This!".  Rumor has it that Those Darn Accordions has quite a few mentions throughout the book. The Darn is set to blast off in 9 days. Check out our tour page for details on the shows.
